Madhya Pradesh has been conferred the CSI Nihilant
Award for best e-governance for year 2008-09. The school
education department has been selected for the award in
department category and Sagar district has been adjudged the
best in district segment. The Computer Society of India (CSI)
presented the awards at its annual conference held at Pune
today.
Secretary
to the Chief Minister and Information Technology Department
Shri Anurag Jain received the State category award, the
Commissioner Public Instructions Shri B.R. Naidu for
department category and the Collector, Sagar district Shri
Heeralal Trivedi received the district segment award from
T.C.S. chief Shri S. Mahalingam and chairman of SIG
E-governance Prof. Ashok Agrawal. Shri Anurag Jain also made a
presentation on IT initiatives taken in Madhya Pradesh and
also delivered the keynote address on the occasion.
The importance of this
prestigious award for Madhya Pradesh assumes greater
importance in sence that the CSI comprising about 30 thousand
professionals, project managers, CEOs was set up in year 1965
and it has 65 chapters in India. The CSI has been conferring
the e-governance awards for last many years.
Entries had been
received from all over the country for the CSI Nihilant Award.
After scrutiny the CSI team and jury selected Madhya Pradesh
State, School Education Department and Sagar district of
Madhya Pradesh for this award. . The CSI team and jury members
also made a spot inspection after the selection. After this,
Madhya Pradesh Secretary for IT Shri Anurag Jain was invited
to make a presentation.
The final evaluation of
the presentation was held on September 15 and 16 last. The
entire process was completed in six months. The process began
on April 2 and completed on September 16, 2009.

Secretary Shri Anil Shrivastava, Assistant Manager of MAP-IT
Sushri Avantika Verma and IT experts and executives in a large
number were present on the occasion.
